The Mazda3 family sedan was perfectly engineered to remain efficient, and deliver smooth, stunning power at the crank. Mazda has created three Mazda3 models to fulfill the needs of every type of driver. Mazda currently offers the Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring lineup. So, what has changed from the 2017 Mazda3 to the 2018 Mazda3? The most significant changes include: more horsepower standard on all models and automatic braking standard on all models.

Performance

With the 2018 Mazda3, you get more power. Initially only available for the 2017 Grand Touring model, the SKYACTIV®-G 184-hp, 2.5L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine comes standard with all three trim levels. The 2018 base sports model sedan starts at $18,970 and the base model hatchback starts at $20,220, each up $250 from last year. The Grand Touring price remains unchanged. The sport is powered by the same 155-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder from the 2017 model.

Appearance

The exterior of the 2018 Mazda3 looks sharp all the way around. It has a sleek, yet aggressive look. With the purchase of a 2018 Mazda3, you will get new, darker wheels. The car remains the same height, width, and length as the 2017 models.

Features

The 2018 Mazda3 models come standard with better brake support. The car uses laser technology to measure the distance between your vehicle and the car in front of you. The Mazda3 will sound an alarm and flash lights to try and get the drivers attention if there is a chance of a collision. This brake support system is designed to quickly bring the car to a complete stop if the driver takes no immediate action. It works best in the city when the car is traveling at speeds of 25 mph or less.
