2018 Mazda6 vs 2017 Mazda6

Proudly Serving Farmington Hills, MI

A sports sedan like the Mazda6 doesn't come along very often. It's the best of all possible worlds: Power, smoothness, and luxury. We believe you'll find a lot to love about both the Mazda6 in 2018 and 2017, but you certainly will have more options in your 2018 model. They've added an additional trim and many new feature packages to up the ante and give you the exact Mazda6 you want to drive away in. Both vehicles remain sleek, stylish, and powerful, but you'll see the differences when you start to compare.

Performance

Your horsepower is going to increase a lot when you opt for the 2018 Mazda6. There's a 250 horsepower option that simply isn't available in the 2017 Mazda6, a vehicle that only goes up to 184 horsepower. There's also 4 trim options available in 2018, while there are only 3 available in 2017, so your options become slimmer when you go for the 2017 model. That's all well and good though if you're fine with 184 horsepower. Not everyone is looking for a race car performance out of their sport sedan. The Cylinder-Deactivation Technology isn't available in the 2017 model either. Your engine for the 2018 Mazda6 is a SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L I4/SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T I4, compared with the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L I4 engine for your 2017, an engine choice that yields significantly less horsepower and precision.

Appearance

The new trim level is an important component of the Mazda6 in 2018. This will give you premium, luxury materials on the interior that simply don't exist as options in the 2017 model. Their Signature trim is going to give you options like Nappa Leather and Sen Wood Accents that completely upgrade the interior of your vehicle. Exterior upgrades occurred as well in 2018: The grille gets an entirely new look, making for a bolder, more sophisticated entrance for this already beautiful vehicle. If you like the old-style Mazda exteriors, you're going to be satisfied with what the 2017 gives you, but please, take a look at the 2018 as well. It might just have cutting edge technology that simply didn't exist in 2017.

Features

Mazda has upgraded the 2018 Mazda6 with human beings in mind. Their "human centric" design gives you one of the coziest cabins in all of the automotive world. With premium materials, Sen wood accents, and out of this world luxury style, you're going to feel like you're driving in an SUV inside a luxury vehicle. The 8.0-inch MAZDA CONNECT™ touchscreen is certain to thrill anyone who's been using a more downgraded version of this technology, so if you want this one, you need to go with the 2018 model. Not that 2017 didn't have its features as well. Cloth upholstery is by no means shabby, and for those more frugal shoppers, it's plenty fine enough to go with a purchase of a 2017 Mazda6. Both have their advantages.

You can see either of these vehicles at Suburban Mazda of Farmington Hills, and we cordially invite you down to take a look at either the 2018 or 2017 Mazda6. We feel that both of these sport sedans are going to delight any number of our customers and turn out to be THE vehicle to take home this season. If you haven't got around to test driving one of these vehicles today, please give us a call. We'll set you up with a full test drive and show you just what both of these powerful vehicles can do.
