2020 MAZDA CX-30 vs 2020 Ford EcoSport

Serving Farmington Hills, MI

The fact that the 2020 Mazda CX-30 ranks #1 in its compact SUVs class says a lot about its worth. The Mazda belongs to the same class like the 2020 Ford EcoSport, but the EcoSport ranks #15 among extra-small SUVs. Aside from the numbers, there's a lot that makes the Mazda stand out from the crowd. The Mazda CX-30 is an all-new vehicle in 2020. The 2020 Mazda CX-30 gets much praise for its upscale interior, teaming with technology, creature comforts, and first-class safety equipment.

In contrast, the Ford EcoSport doesn't offer as much room for people and cargo, and it has a few standard safety tools. The Mazda CX-30 also gets a punchy engine with a power output that exceeds what you'll get with the EcoSport. The Mazda also offers a head-turning exterior style with a contemporary design, while the EcoSport exterior lacks the Mazda's glamour and elegance.

Performance

Performance is a strong suit of the 2020 Mazda CX-30. All trims of the Mazda share the same engine, which is a 2.5L with a four-cylinder layout. This engine creates just over 185 horsepower and a matching 186 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. An all-wheel drive is an option for all trim levels. The 2020 Ford EcoSport offers two engines, but neither engine provides the same level of power as the Mazda's. At most, the EcoSport has a power output of 166 horsepower. Its base engine has a peak power capacity of 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft in torque output.

Interior Design

An upscale, contemporary, and spacious interior defines the 2020 Mazda CX-30. The Mazda has a standard 8.8-inch infotainment display screen, which is larger than what most of its competitors offer. The base trim also has several standard advanced safety aids. The Select trim follows with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and simulated leather seats. Heated seats and a Bose audio system are added to the top trim. The Ford gets a smaller 4.2-inch display screen at the base level, and the most massive display screen you can get on other trims is eight inches. Ford only has blind-spot monitoring for safety.

Style

Sweeping angles and intricate contours give the Mazda an attractive and contemporary appearance. LED lights are standard. The Preferred trim gets unique exterior design elements and impressive headlights. The Premium adds adaptive front lighting and a power liftgate. The Ford does not have standard LED lights, and adaptive headlights are not available. Unique design features are only offered through add-on packages.
