2025 Mazda CX-70 Plug-In Hybrid
The 2025 Mazda CX-70 Plug-In Hybrid enters the midsize SUV class with a two-row configuration and stronger electrification. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine pairs with a 17.8-kWh battery pack and an electric motor, producing 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque when used with premium fuel. An eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive (AWD) support smooth gear shifts and controlled driving in any road condition.
It gets up to 26 miles of driving in all-electric mode, making it possible to handle short commutes and errands around town without using a single drop of gas. In hybrid mode, efficiency is rated at 56 MPGe, compared to gas-powered driving, which averages 25 mpg, for 490 miles combined. Towing capacity reaches 3,500 pounds, providing flexibility for campers, boats, or utility trailers. Level 2 charging replenishes the battery in less than 2.5 hours, allowing daily electric driving with routine home charging.
Inside, the 2025 Mazda CX-70 Plug-In Hybrid balances space and refinement. Compared with three-row layouts, the two-row format provides generous legroom for passengers and additional cargo space. The cabin accommodates up to five passengers, with trims that feature leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a wide infotainment display. Safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and lane-keeping support.
